Reminder: Monday, October 9, is a Professional Development day and there is no school for students. The 23-24 School Calendar is available to view on the TMSD website.

The district received notification from the Pennsylvania State Police this week that a nationwide bomb threat campaign targeting school in Pennsylvania is occurring. This morning, members of our district received a threatening email from this campaign. Out of an abundance of caution, students evacuated the building while the building was inspected. State Police are aware of the situation and have advised us that the threat is not credible. We will continue with our normal day as scheduled.

Correction, the bus experiencing mechanical issues is bus 26 Carol Sheffield. The bus is running 25-30 minutes late.

Just a reminder...Meet the Titans is this evening (Thursday, August 17th) at 7:30 pm at the football field!

Middle School and High School student schedules can now be viewed on the Sapphire Community Web Portal. To access the schedule begin by clicking on the button labeled "Go to My Backpack" and then click the link for Courses & Grades on the left side menu. Any questions or concerns regarding schedule changes will be addressed starting the first day of school. Students will be called by grade level to address any concerns he or she may have. According to the parent handbook, parents / students can request schedule changes during the first 10 days of school.

Tussey Mountain Elementary Meet the Teacher Night will be held on Thursday August 17th. Kindergarten Meet the Teacher will be from 5:30 to 6:30. Grades one and two will be from 6:00 to 7:00. Grades three and four will be from 6:30 to 7:30. Title I, Learning Support and specialists will be available from 6:00 to 7:00.

Reminder to 5th Grade students and families: 5th Grade Orientation will be held next Wednesday, August 16th at 5:00. Please enter through the auditorium doors. We look forward to seeing you!

Attention Tussey Mountain Seniors and Families: Just a reminder... Provine Senior Photos are scheduled for Wednesday, August 2, 2023 and Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Tussey Mountain High School. If your assigned time slot from Provine does not work for your schedule, you are welcome to come at any time from 9:00 am through 1:00 pm either day. If you have any questions and/or concerns, please contact the high school office at (814) 635-2975. Our summer office hours are Monday through Thursday 6:00 am - 4:00 pm. Thank You!

Don't forget to register your student for Preschool, Kindergarten or Head Start! Registrations are being accepted now. Go to tmsd.net to complete a new student registration. Registrations must be submitted by July 14th for your child's name to be included in homeroom listings.

Attention students, parents/guardians: There are various activity photos ready for pickup in the high school office. These include Graduation, Prom, Varsity Softball, and Varsity Track. Summer office hours are Monday through Thursday until 4:00 p.m.

Dear Parents and Guardians: Tussey Mountain Elementary School is a Title I School that receives federal funding to assist our students in meeting the demands of the challenging state academic standards. The federal funds that are received by the district support supplemental instruction, reinforce the regular school curriculum, and provide academic intervention to students in both Math and Reading. Honoring the fallen: A powerful display of learning and singing unfolds even when school’s out. The Boy Scouts and Choir members from the Tussey Mountain School District come together to capture a moment before the Memorial Service in Saxton. Alongside numerous community members and veterans, the students lent their services for the fallen at three event - the Honor Roll on Main Street in Saxton, the Duvall Cemetary in Six Mile Run and the Broadtop Cemetary in Broadtop.These young people are truly honored to be asked to participate in this meaningful event year after year.

Second Grade Track and Field scheduled for Tuesday May 9th has been rescheduled to Wednesday May 10th at 9:00 am at the Tussey Mountain High School Track.

The students in grades 8-11 have been working on their schedules in Sapphire for next school year. Parents are encouraged to assist in this process as your student makes course selections. The course request form in Sapphire will need to be submitted by April 12th.

Spring Break for Tussey Mountain School District is Thursday, April 6 through Monday, April 10. All schools in the Tussey Mountain School District will be closed on those dates. Students will return to school on Tuesday, April 11.

There are schools within our area on lock down due to an active shooter threat. The Tussey Mountain School District has NOT received a threat; but has been alerted by the 911 Call Center that these threat calls are originating in California and not deemed a credible threat. We will continue the day as usual.
