Bus 15 Joyce Gabrielson is experiencing mechanical difficulties in the Puttstown area of Saxton. A replacement bus is being sent to take students home. Students will arrive home approximately 20-30 minutes late.

Bus 28, Eric Crooks is running 15 to 20 minutes behind schedule today December 7th.

On Monday, December 4 at 5:30, all parents and community members are invited to attend an informational session aimed at helping students cope with loss following a peer death, as well as steps that can be taken at home and in the community to help prevent adolescent suicide. The session will take place in the High School Auditorium and also be hosted live via Zoom. Parents and concerned community members are encouraged to participate and submit questions they may have in advance using the link provided at tmsd.net.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of one of our Tussey Mountain High School students, Timothy Cromwell. Grief counselors will be available at the school district in the coming days to help students and staff cope with this loss. During school this week, your student will be notified of Timothy’s death. The student body as a whole will also be participating in some suicide post-vention activities.
If you would prefer your student to be excused from class discussions regarding loss and available services, please contact the middle/ high school office at 814-635-2975 or email jshoemake@tmsd.net. We also ask that you notify your student of your wishes for them not to participate in these discussions.
If you or some one you know experiencing thoughts of suicide or self-harm, we encourage you to call or text 988, the national suicide hotline. We also strongly encourage all students to use our Safe2Say hotline to seek help for themselves or others who may be in a dangerous situation.

Attention Parents, Bus 4 is experiencing mechanical issues at the elementary school. A different bus is being sent to transport students home. Due to these issues bus 4 will be approximately 20 minutes behind schedule today November 20th.

Please be reminded that Thanksgiving break starts Wednesday, November 22 and ends on Monday, November 27. Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 28.

Reminder that the PTO fundraiser pickup is Tuesday November 14th from 4:00 to 5:30 in the elementary gym. Fundraisers will not be available for pickup before 4:00.

Thursday, October 26 is the last day of marking period 1. There will be an early dismissal on Friday, October 27 for all students. Elementary parent pickups will begin at 12:40 p.m. and buses will begin dismissal at 12:50 p.m. Middle School and High School will be dismissed at 1:00 p.m. There will NOT be afternoon preschool or vo-tech on Friday.

Reminder: Monday, October 9, is a Professional Development day and there is no school for students. The 23-24 School Calendar is available to view on the TMSD website.

The district received notification from the Pennsylvania State Police this week that a nationwide bomb threat campaign targeting school in Pennsylvania is occurring. This morning, members of our district received a threatening email from this campaign. Out of an abundance of caution, students evacuated the building while the building was inspected. State Police are aware of the situation and have advised us that the threat is not credible. We will continue with our normal day as scheduled.

Just a reminder...Meet the Titans is this evening (Thursday, August 17th) at 7:30 pm at the football field!

Middle School and High School student schedules can now be viewed on the Sapphire Community Web Portal. To access the schedule begin by clicking on the button labeled "Go to My Backpack" and then click the link for Courses & Grades on the left side menu. Any questions or concerns regarding schedule changes will be addressed starting the first day of school. Students will be called by grade level to address any concerns he or she may have.
According to the parent handbook, parents / students can request schedule changes during the first 10 days of school.
