This is a friendly reminder that PSSA testing starts next week. Students in grades 3 and 4 will begin on Monday, April 22nd, and grades 5 through 8 will begin on Tuesday, April 23rd. We kindly ask that you help your child get to school on time and well-rested for their PSSA tests. All students will be given the opportunity to eat breakfast at school. We appreciate your cooperation in making sure your child has a successful testing experience.

All after school activities are canceled for today, April 2nd due to rising water concerns.

Tussey Mountain High School will be hosting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Workshop at the high school on Tuesday, March 12 at 5:30 pm. Please bring along the necessary documents such as your FSA ID, Social Security Numbers, Federal income tax forms, W2s from 2022. A representative from PHEAA will be available to assist you and answer any questions you may have about the application process.

Due to the current power outage in Saxton, both school buildings will be dismissing early today. Elementary students will begin loading buses at 12:30 pm, parent pickups will begin at 12:20 pm. Middle school and High school students will begin loading buses at 12:45 pm.

Reminder: Monday, October 9, is a Professional Development day and there is no school for students.

Good Afternoon, The PTO has two fundraisers going at this time to boost funds needed for field trips, Santa's workshop and other initiatives. The first fundraiser is an event, if you go to the Ice Box on August 30th, part of the proceeds will go to our PTO. The other is a sale of mums. The forms will go home tomorrow with students kindergarten through grade 6. Please ask your child for the form.

Middle School and High School student schedules can now be viewed on the Sapphire Community Web Portal. To access the schedule begin by clicking on the button labeled "Go to My Backpack" and then click the link for Courses & Grades on the left side menu. Any questions or concerns regarding schedule changes will be addressed starting the first day of school. Students will be called by grade level to address any concerns he or she may have. According to the parent handbook, parents / students can request schedule changes during the first 10 days of school.

Attention Seniors and Families: Provine Senior Photos are scheduled for Wednesday, August 2, 2023 and Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Tussey Mountain High School. You will receive a flyer from Provine Studios with information about your photo session, including the time slot assigned to you. If your assigned time slot does not work for your schedule, you are welcome to come at any time from 9:00 am through 1:00 pm either day. If you have any questions and/or concerns, please contact Provine Studios at (814) 942-5116. If you do not receive a flyer via mail from Provine Studios within the next week or so, please contact the high school at (814) 635-2975. The students in grades 8-11 have been working on their schedules in Sapphire for next school year. Parents are encouraged to assist in this process as your student makes course selections. The course request form in Sapphire will need to be submitted by April 12th.

Spring Break for Tussey Mountain School District is Thursday, April 6 through Monday, April 10. All schools in the Tussey Mountain School District will be closed on those dates. Students will return to school on Tuesday, April 11.

There is an early dismissal scheduled for Friday, March 24. Elementary parent pickups will begin at 12:45 p.m., buses will begin dismissal at 12:50 p.m. Middle School and High School will be dismissed at 1:00 p.m. There will be NO afternoon preschool and NO vo-tech on Friday.

Due to the forecasted winter storm predicted to impact our area, the Tussey Mountain School District is electing to use a Flexible Instruction Day for tomorrow, Friday, March 10.

Congratulations to the Titan Bocce team! They won the league championship and will be traveling to Penn State Dubois for regional playoffs on Thursday. Good luck Titans.
