FALL FOLIAGE FESTIVAL
DEADLINE: APRIL 5, 2019
(6) $1,000.00 scholarships to graduating seniors from Bedford County Schools who have been accepted to a college, university, or technical school with plans to further their education. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

WESTERN PA APPRENTICESHIP & TRAINING PROGRAMS
Information is available in the Guidance Office on the following programs:

     Western PA Operating Engineers Joint Apprenticeship & Training

MCCAVITT SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE: April 12, 2019
Graduating senior having completed all 4 years at TM and has accepted full time enrollment in an accredited college or university.  Preference will be given for need of financial assistance, strong educational motivation and a desire to contribute knowledge in service-oriented areas of study such as education, nursing, law enforcement, medical research or social work.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  

DR ROY HOFFMAN SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE: March 31, 2019
Graduating senior who is a resident of Bedford or Fulton Counties.  (S)he must maintain a 2.5GPA and be admitted to a vocational-technical school or a two- or four- year college or university.  Preference is given to students of family farms.  Information is available in the Guidance Office. 

SAMUEL BRUMBAUGH / TMSDEF SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  April 5, 2019
TM graduating senior with a grade average, at the beginning of senior year, of at least a 3.0. Student must have participated in same inter-district athletic sport or extra-curricular activity during at least two school calendar years (Not necessarily to have “lettered”, “starred” or “started”, but must have been on the roster and participated in some manner for the entire season). Student must be accepted for registration into a 2 or 4 year, public PA (or bordering state) accredited institution of higher education to major or minor in a computer, mathematics, or science field of study. Preference to applicants stating intention to complete a 4-year degree program. Submission of a 400-500 word essay summarizing qualifications, rationale for choosing selected field of study, financial need and long term career goals. DR RONALD D MCCAHAN MEMORIAL AWARD
DEADLINE:  April 5, 2019
TM high school senior who has resided in the district for grades 9-12, maintained a career grade average of 3.0 and participated in at least two inter-district sports for four consecutive years (9th-12th grades). (S)he must exemplify PRIDE model and be able to show proof of enrollment to a 2- or 4- year accredited institution. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

TM Senior pursuing post-secondary education at a 2-or 4-year accredited institution. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. 

WATSON & BLACK AMERICAN LEGION AUX, UNIT 126
DEADLINE:  April 12, 2019
Award presented annually to a TM senior who is a descendent of a veteran and is pursuing post-secondary education in any field. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

BUSINESS & PROFESSIONAL WOMEN / PA
DEADLINE:  March 31, 2019
Female student graduating from one of the Bedford County public schools in Spring of 2019 and beginning her college studies with the 2019 fall semester. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

R.W & B.T FIREFIGHTERS AND EMS MEMORIAL AWARD
DEADLINE:  March 28, 2019
TM Senior who has resided in the district for grades 10-12, has an overall grade average of at least 75%, participates voluntarily in community activities and resides in RW & BT’s first due coverage area. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

VALLEY RURAL ELECTRIC BRIGHTER FUTURE SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  April 15, 2019
Applicant must be an active member or dependent of an active member of the Co-op.  (S)he must be attending an accredited post-secondary institution full time for the 2019-2020 academic year.   Applications are available in the Guidance Office. 

EDGAR SNYDER WORDS TO BE HEARD SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  April 26, 2019
Any high school senior who plants to attend a 2- or 4- year college, university or trade school.  Applicant is required to submit a presentation that discourages underage drinking and driving and / or texting while driving.  Information is available in the Guidance Office.   

HEALTH PROFESSIONS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
DEADLINE:  March 31, 2019
Bedford County residents accepted into a health career program. Must be willing to commit to work at UPMC Bedford for a period of 3 years if scholarship is awarded. This scholarship includes a component tied to financial need. Pre-Medical programs are not eligible. Information is available in the Guidance Office or online at https://goo.gl/DjBJ5R

THOMAS E BAILEY SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  March 31, 2019
Bedford County high school senior who is planning a professional career in health care. Pre-Medical programs are acceptable. Information is available in the Guidance Office or online at https://goo.gl/DjBJ5R

BETSY WEIMERT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  March 31, 2019
Applicant must have completed 3 years on the TM JV / Varsity Girls Basketball Team and been accepted to a state accredited university or college. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

THE SALON PROFESSIONAL ACADEMY
DEADLINE:  April 1, 2019
Scholarship must be used toward tuition at the Salon Professional Academy.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

RAYSTOWN BRETHERN CHURCH COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
DEADLINE:  May 10, 2019
Presented to a TM senior who demonstrates a willingness to improve community enhancement efforts by volunteering their time and service.  Recipient will be chosen by a committee of Raystown Brethern Church.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

BETTY JANE HEINE AND CINDY TAYLOR SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  March 27, 2019
Huntingdon County high school senior students who are entering RN Programs in the fall of 2019. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  

WILLIAM MATSON SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  May 6, 2019
Graduating senior who is a dependent of a PA Rural Electric Cooperative member (Valley Rural Electric or New Enterprise Rural Electric) Information is available at www.prea.com Member Programs 

WOODCOCK VALLEY LIONS SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  April 17, 2019
Graduating senior who is a full time resident of either Tussey Mountain or Huntingdon School District and is pursuing post-secondary education. Criteria includes academic performance, financial need, leadership skills, citizenship activities and written recommendations. Information is available in the Guidance Office. 

AMERICAN LEGION POST 556 SIX MILE RUN SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  April 18, 2019
An annual award presented to three TM seniors who have been accepted to a college (2 or 4 year, business, or technical / trade school) after graduation. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF THE ALLEGHENIES
DEADLINE:  April 21, 2019

  • Bedford Grange Mutual Scholarship
    Provides awards to children of Bedford Grange Mutual Insurance Co policy holders who are planning to further their education in the fall of 2019.
  • Jerome A and Francis D Yetsko Family Scholarship
    Graduating senior from Portage Area High School or Tussey Mountain High School that has been accepted into an accredited post-secondary institution to study in a healthcare or education-related major.
  • McCready Family Scholarship
    High school graduate from Cambria, Somerset or Bedford County who plans to pursue an academic degree relating to communications at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
    Information from the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies  scholarships is available in the Guidance Office. 

SAXTON SPORTSMEN ASSOCIATION IN MEMORY OF JEFF BOKA
DEADLINE:  April 26, 2019
Scholarship is made available to (2) two TM graduating seniors who will be furthering their education in a program that involves industrial arts, mechanic repair, or wildlife conservation. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. 

TUSSEY MOUNTAIN MARCHING BAND BOOSTERS AWARD
DEADLINE:  April 8, 2019
TM Senior who has excelled in his/her participation as a band member. All TM Band Seniors including instrumental, majorette, managers and color guard members are encouraged to apply. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

COMMUNITY STATE BANK SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  April 30, 2019
Graduating senior who has been accepted into a post secondary school. Applications are available in the Guidance Office 

CHRISTIAN MINISTRY AWARD
TM graduating senior who is going into some aspect of Christian Ministry.  Information is available in the Guidance Office. 

JOEL D MORNINGSTAR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  April 12, 2019
An annual award presented by friends and family in memory of Joel D Morningstar.  This scholarship is presented to a graduating senior pursuing post-secondary education at a two or four year college in any area of study.  Recipient will be chosen by a committee of friends and family upon review of application criteria.  Award will be mailed directly to the college upon completion of the student's first semester of college with the intent to return for second semester  Applications are availalbe in the Guidance Office.  

PAUL EDWARD MITCHELL & JOSEPH RAYMOND MITCHELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  May 3, 2019
High school students from Huntingdon County who enroll in a pre-medical course of study at an accredited college or university will be given first preference. Second preference is given to high school students pursuing any other course of study at an accredited college or university. 

SANDY RUN LANDFILL SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  April 29, 2019
College bound seniors who live in and attend high school in the Tussey Mountain SD. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. 

BROAD TOP AREA MEDICAL CENTER SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  April 22, 2019
Graduating senior who has been accepted and enrolled in a course of study related to the health care field.

WOMEN OF THE MOOSE SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  May 6, 2019
Graduating female resident of Bedford County who has been accepted at an Institute of Higher Learning.   Applications are available in the Guidance Office. 

CONEMAUGH NASON AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE:  May 3, 2019
Senior student intending to further their education to become a nurse or a healthcare technician.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
