
Attendance for Middle / High School Effective 11-18-20:
Even during times of virtual instruction, we are required to keep accurate attendance records. In accordance with guidance from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, attendance collection will be a two-fold process in which 1) students are expected to complete a daily attendance form (sent directly to their TMSD email each day) AND 2) keep up to date will all assigned work. This attendance form must be completed by the student by 11:00 AM each day.
In addition to collecting daily student attendance reports, TMSD teachers will be monitoring completion of assignments and reporting concerns to district administration weekly. Failure to show consistent engagement and participation during virtual learning may result in a referral to the truancy officer.

SPECTATOR GUIDELINES
--The Hollidaysburg Area School District would like to remind our spectators to adhere to the social distancing guidelines set forth from the PA Department of Health to maintain 6ft from all people NOT in your immediate family while seated in the stadium bleachers.
--The Hollidaysburg Area School District reminds all spectators they MUST wear a mask at all times throughout the stadium until they are seated and properly socially distanced from Non-members of their immediate family. You MUST wear a mask when not seated, and while visiting the concession stand and restrooms.
--There is NO-Re-ENTRY into the Stadium. Once a spectator leaves the Stadium they CANNOT re-enter.
--Please stay home if you are sick!

District 5 Football Championship Game: Northern Bedford County vs. Tussey Mountain, Friday, October 30, 2020 at 7:00. Hollidaysburg High School (Tiger Stadium, Union St. Hollidaysburg, PA). All tickets must be pre-purchased and are $6 (no student prices). There will be NO tickets sold the night of the game. Each participant (football, band, cheer) will be given 6 vouchers on Monday, October 26th. Voucher money and unsold vouchers must be returned on Wednesday, October 28th by noon. All unsold tickets will then go on sale to the public (4 tickets maximum) at the Tussey Mountain Football Stadium ticket booth on Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM until all tickets are sold.

Friday October 23rd is an early dismissal day for the Tussey Mountain School District. Dismissal at the elementary school will begin at 12:45pm for parent pickups and 12:50pm for students on buses. High school students will be dismissed at 1:00pm.

Middle/High School Parents and Guardians: As flu season approaches and students begin to remain home, they must log onto CANVAS to continue to do their work so they do not get behind. Teachers have assignments posted to keep fluidity between home and school in the event we do have to go to our hybrid or online plan. Students who are asked to quarantine from someone outside of the school are asked to report their situation to the nurse as soon as possible. Upon returning to school, a doctor's note will be needed if the absence is quarantine related or beyond the parental excused days.

Tonight's JV football game with West Branch has been canceled.

Reminder: Middle School/High School students who are in non-compliance with the district's mask wearing policy will receive disciplinary action beginning with a warning and could lead to being sent home.

Tomorrow's varsity football game with Southern Huntingdon has been canceled. Tussey Mountain will instead travel to North Star for a 7:00 kick-off. No vouchers are required. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for students. The game will be live-streamed on the NFHS network.

Titan Fans:
Vouchers are not required for the junior high football game at Windber on 10/1 or for the varsity football game at Glendale on 10/2. Both stadiums are opening to 50% capacity. A reminder that masks will be required.

A Virtual PHEAA Financial Aid Presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22 from 5:30-7:00pm. This presentation will provide an early understanding of the financial decisions students will need to make concerning higher education. The presenter will discuss higher education costs, the types of financial aid available, and how to apply for financial aid. The Challenge Program will be awarding $3,000 to 15 students at TM this year! (5 sophomores, 5 Juniors, and 5 Seniors). The program challenges students in 5 categories: Attendance, STEM, Community Service, Academic Improvement, and Academic Excellence. Attention classes of 2020 and 2021: Thank you for your participation in the Prom survey. Due to the lack of interest in participating, the district has decided to cancel Prom for this school year.

Attention Class of 2020: Thank you for responding to the survey on holding a traditional graduation this week. Based off of the small number of students who participated in the survey, holding a ceremony for this amount of people would not be feasible. We thank you for attending the drive-thru ceremony on June 4.

If you did not pick up your locker belongings at the high school during the scheduled time in May, you can still come get your belongings. Our summer hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 to 4:00. If items are not picked up by July 1st, they will be donated to charity.

On Thursday, June 4th, the District will be conducting a drive through Graduation Ceremony beginning at 5pm. Please see the website for details. In order to receive your diploma you must return any chromebooks, textbooks, or settle any other Senior obligations this week.

The schedule for locker clean out for grades 5 through 11 is available on the TMSD website. To find the date and time for each grade level, go to the District home page and click on "Locker Clean Out Schedule".

The spring formal for grades 7 through 12 that was scheduled for Saturday, April 4 has been cancelled. The Pride Team thanks you for your understanding and hopes you are staying healthy.

TMSD is going to offer online instructional opportunities starting Wed. March 25. All students K-12 will need a computer or tablet with internet access. If you do not have access to a computer at home you may pick one up at the H.S. Aud. from 12-3 March 23 and 8-3 March 24
