Notice is hereby given that the Board of School Directors of Tussey Mountain School District intends to adopt a Resolution authorizing the placement of a question on the May 15, 2007, primary election ballot. The proposed Resolution shall be in substantially the following form, with any additions or changes as determined by the school board or election officials prior to the election:

Do you favor your school district imposing an additional .60% earned income tax? The revenue generated from the tax increase (approximately $359,144) will be used to reduce taxes on qualified owner occupied residential properties and on qualified farm building by approximately $97.20. The current school district earned income and net profits tax rate is .50%, and the current combined municipal/school district rate is 1.00%. This increased earned income tax is revenue neutral to the district; that is to say that in order to offset lowered real estate tax, we are increasing the current earned income tax.

A copy of the proposed Resolution authorizing the May 15, 2007, ballot question is available for public inspection by any resident at the school district administrative office located at the Jr./Sr. High School, 199 Front Street, Saxton, PA on any weekday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. This proposed Resolution may be amended before final adoption.
