Delay and Early Dismissal Procedures

1 1/2 Hour Delays

When a 1 1/2 hour delay has been annouced for students of the Tussey Mountain School District, all students should adjust their morning schedule accordingly.

  • Bus Riders:  Report to your designated bus stop 1 1/2 hour later than normal. For example, if your bus picks you up at 7:10 a.m., then you should plan on being at your bus stop by 8:40 a.m., etc.
  • Walkers:  If you walk to school, plan on leaving your home 1 1/2 hour later than normal.  For example, if you normally leave your home at 7:20 a.m., then you should plan on leaving your home at 8:50 a.m.

Early Dismissals

In the event of an early dismissal, students from the Tussey Mountain Jr./Sr. High School will be dismissed first, followed by students from the three elementary buildings (Saxton Liberty, Robertsdale, and Defiance).

Announcements of early dismissals are made immediately via radio, television, internet, local businesses and daycare centers.
